A paper from project 2 on utilization of leftover protein

Protein for animal feed is a key factor for production of meat for human consumption. In several areas around the world, such as e.g. Europe, protein for animal feed is imported at the same time as the local source of plant protein remains underexploited. In this work we investigate an optimized process for recovering of the plant protein from green plant biomass of both monocots (ryegrass) and dicots (white clover). The process is worked out in the perspective of being an integrated part of a value cascading of the green plant biomass, making use of upgraded proteins for monogastric animal feed, and use of the fibers plus residual proteins for cattle feed.
