One step closer to reality: Maabjerg Energy Concept (MEC)

On June 9, 2016 the government and the parties “Socialdemokraterne”, ”Dansk Folkeparti”, and ”Det Konservative Folkeparti” made an agreement under the Ministry of Business and Growth to support Danish production of advanced biofuels by suggesting a bill demanding 0,9 pct. advanced biofuel drop-in in the transport energy consumption. This drop-in requirement can be compared to a requirement of 2,5 pct. if the requirement accounts for bioethanol alone. See press release here and the actual agreement here (only available in Danish).

For Maabjerg Energy Concept this is the kind of policy signal they have been waiting for. A political decision seem near. Come to the Annual Meeting, Tuesday September 13, and hear what happens when Denmark’s first commercial scale 2G biorefinery pushes the start button.

New man representing TI/AgroTech in the BioValue board

Gunnar Hald Mikkelsen says goodbye to the Technological Institute/Division AgroTech and by default also the BioValue board seat. By August 1, 2016 Gunner has a new position at Samsø working with circular economy and the development of organic agricultural products. Director of TI/AgroTech Michael Poulsen will fill the seat in BioValue’s board, and we look forward to the continuation of our strong collaboration on biorefinery visions.
