VitaLys will cut down on sugar

Food prices go up and down

and with a growing population, pressure on the earth’s food resources increase. Therefore, the most forward-thinking manufacturing companies that currently use crops as feedstock already started to look for alternatives. One of them is the DLG company VitaLys in Esbjerg. 

VitaLys produce L-lysine, for which they import white sugar. VitaLys joined Bio-Value SPIR to look for alternatives to the annual use of 35.000 tonnes of white sugar. Now, they will test if their lysine-producing bacteria can work on existing biomass or leftover biomass streams.
